Grace Taşel was born March 7th 2003 in Bel Air Maryland. She is the child of a first generation immigrant. Her father immigrated to the states at the age of eighteen from Türkiye. Her Turkish heritage heavily influences her identity and work. As she grew up Grace was surrounded by women in her family with artistic hobbies and careers. From quilting to jewelry to fiber arts, the women in Graces family used the act of making as their love language.

Grace is a recent 2025 graduate from Rhode Island School of Design, in Providence Rhode Island, where she currently resides. During her college years as an illustration major she found a love for traditional methods of art making such as drawing and painting. Currently Grace works as a curatorial assistant at Angell Street Galleries. While also participating in national juried exhibitions, and exhibitions in her local community of Providence. She is particularly interested in exploring the female experience, through the metaphor of the body and strives to create shocking, raw pieces that confront the viewers thoughts on womanhood and the female body.
